ESG ranking

Coca-Cola HBC was rated on December 9, 2022, as the most sustainable global company in the beverage production category, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 2021.

This means that for the 12th consecutive year, we are among the top three companies in the world in terms of sustainable business practices in beverage production. Launched in 1999, the DJSI is considered the global benchmark for corporate sustainability.

We have been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series since its set-up in 2000. In the last years, we have been rated with the highest score in the beverage industry.

The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to identify companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance practices measured against globally recognised standards.

Due to our efforts in combating climate change and protecting water resources, we have been ranked among the leaders in the industry through the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP).

Our A- ratings for climate and water demonstrate our commitment to transparency in environmental protection. This is the 7th consecutive year we have received an A or A- rating for climate, and the 6th time in the last seven years for water.

CDP's annual environmental data disclosure and scoring process are widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate transparency.

CDP uses a detailed and independent methodology to assess companies, assigning a score from A to D-, based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness, and management of environmental risks, and demonstration of best practices related to environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful goals.

In July 2023, we received the top “AAA” rating from the MSCI ESG for the ninth year in a row. 

MSCI ESG rates companies across the world based on their exposure to industry specific ESG risks and their ability to manage those risks relative to peers.
