Turning drink orders into meals

Delivering more than 109,000 meals for young people in need

Through a first-of-its-kind partnership between The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola HBC, tech platform Glovo, SOS Children’s Villages, and thousands of consumers, more than 109,000 meals are reaching beneficiaries who need them most in 2025.

Turning drink orders into meals

Every time someone in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, or Serbia placed an order for Coca-Cola Original Taste or Zero Sugar, Fanta, or Sprite through the Glovo app between 1 and 21 April 2025, it triggered a financial support from The Coca-Cola System. SOS Children’s Villages then used those funds to prepare meals for SOS Children's Villages families facing hardship in the four participating countries.

Partnership with Glovo secured meals for hundreds of beneficiaries of SOS Children's Villages ranging from 3 up to 12 months, depending on the country.

The partnership united organisations and individuals with a shared goal:

  • The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola HBC gave financial support towards a meal each time a consumer bought Coca-Cola Original Taste or Zero Sugar, Fanta, or Sprite through the Glovo app.

  • Employees of both companies who volunteered to help prepare meals, created meaningful connections with the beneficiaries through joint workshops, and brought joy.

  • Glovo, the tech company that used its social impact platform to bring the idea to life and to provide meals for vulnerable citizens across multiple markets.

  • SOS Children’s Villages, the global charity supporting young people without parental care or at risk of losing it, who prepared meals for their beneficiaries.

  • Consumers, who could get actively involved by simply ordering their favourite drinks.

A social model for impact

This campaign is just one of many ways The Coca-Cola System – in this partnership comprising The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola HBC in these four markets – is helping support communities across our markets.

Marcel Martin, Coca-Cola HBC’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer, says: "This programme shows the power of partnership in action.

By combining our reach, resources, and shared values, we’ve created a model for how we can work with customers and NGOs to deliver real, lasting impact in the communities where we live and work. We’re proud to be part of a system that makes this kind of collaboration possible.

Through this initiative with Coca Cola HBC, we're joining forces to reduce hunger and ensure safe access to food for everyone who needs it. Via our Glovo Access programme, we offer our platform free of charge to NGOs, so they can deliver essential goods to communities faster and more efficiently. At Glovo, we believe in using technology for good.

Thanks to the support of Coca-Cola System companies and Glovo, the SOS Children's Villages Serbia Foundation will provide as many as 58,400 meals for mothers and babies living in difficult life circumstances, to whom we provide support in housing and childcare at our center in Kraljevo. This donation, worth 30,000 euros, will enable the provision of healthy and quality food, which is of great importance for facilitating the functioning of the program. Within this program, in addition to food, we also provide mothers and children with a safe place to live. When we worry less about material support, we can focus more on working daily with the mothers to help them achieve independence and empowerment.
